“I cherish the opportunity to do my part to improve these incredible resources and enjoy seeing the positive impacts extend far beyond the banks.” — zach

Zach Sudman, EIT | Staff Engineer

Zach is a river engineer with a master’s degree in hydraulic engineering and five years of experience working on river restoration and enhancement projects throughout the Western United States and the Midwest. He has worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from urban river restoration to salmon and steelhead habitat enhancements. His experience with river restoration design includes engineered large wood structures, hydraulic modeling, sediment transport analysis, scour analysis, and bank treatment stability. He enjoys the challenge of understanding existing river processes and designing projects which leverage these processes into successful results. Zach’s experience in construction has benefited his ability to take a project from an abstract concept to a clearly communicated design to a successfully implemented project. His specialties include project design, drawing production, field data collection, surveying, construction observation, and report writing.

When Zach is not at work he can be found in the mountains or on the river with his wife and dogs doing whatever outdoor activity is in season.
